Tom's Comfort and Care Kits
We are thrilled to introduce you to our new project.
This has been in the pipeline for years, and we’re now ready to share it with you.
Tom’s Comfort and Care Kit is a carefully curated collection of essentials and thoughtful treats designed to provide comfort and brighten the days of youngsters living with cancer during their hospital stay. Created by us here at the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation, the kit includes cosy items like comfy socks, neck cushions, and a soft blanket, as well as practical things like anti-sickness bands, heat pads, and eye masks. Mindful colouring books and headphones are also included to offer moments of relaxation and distraction.
Each kit is packed with love and care, reflecting Tom’s legacy of kindness and support, to remind young patients they are never alone on their journey.
When Tom, our son, was diagnosed at the age of 18, we were rushed into the hospital, and we all looked like rabbits scared in headlights. We were scared and overwhelmed. We wanted to feel like we weren’t alone, which is why the ‘Tom’s Comfort and Care Kit’ would be ideal. It will help, comfort and pamper teenagers and young adults starting their cancer treatment. We want all teenagers and young adults who arrive at the hospital to start their treatment to be given one of these kits, with the aim of making the journey a little easier by alleviating some of the fear and overwhelm.
